Today our little guy is nine months old. I always think nine months is a pretty significant milestone....you know, being on the outside for as long as he was inside and that sort of thing. But also just the fact that we've kept Wyatt
alive for so long is pretty impressive. I mean, these babies come here unable to do anything on their own and are completely dependent on us parents to take care of their every need. It's a pretty daunting task! So I'm proud to say that we have been successful thus far! :)
At nine months, Wyatt is really close to being able to get around on his own. Well, he
can get around on his own, but

he hasn't quite mastered the crawling yet. For a long time he was really good at scooting, but he'd always go backwards. I'd find him stuck under couches and chairs all the time. One time I actually lost him while I was playing the piano. I turned around and the kid had backed himself clear into the corner of the living room where I couldn't see him. I found him back there happily kicking the wall, pleased as punch with himself! In the past week or so, he's figured out how to shove himself forward using his arms and toes. He gets up on his knees all the time, and has even officially crawled for a few inches before flopping onto his belly and scooting some more. So I'm sure he'll be up and at it in no time at all....just in the nick of time to do some serious damage to the Christmas tree I'm sure!
Wyatt is a good little eater. He nurses three times a day still, and has stopped biting, thank goodness! He loves bread and anything he can feed himself. He eats his baby food good too, although I'm having a hard time getting him to down any of the third stage "meal" type foods. He's a bit of a purist I guess. He loves applesauce (good thing too, 'cause we've got TONS of it!), cottage cheese, and nilla wafers. He has four teeth and more on the way, I think.

Wyatt, aka Wy-snag-doodle or Wyettle (his dad came up with those...), goes to bed around 8:00 and will sleep until 7 or 8 in the morning. He takes a morning nap and an afternoon nap, each around 1 1/2-2 hours. I LOVE it! He sleeps with his binky and little fleece snuggly "facemask".

Of all the people Wyatt knows, I am by far his favorite. (Above photo courtesy of Lucy--a budding photographer.) He's a big time Momma's boy. If I dare to walk in the room when someone else is holding him and he sees me, he'll cry. If I walk by him playing happily on the floor and don't pick him up or sit down to play with him, he'll cry. But as long as I'm within his line of sight and I give him bits of attention here and there, he's a happy camper.

Wyatt has GORGEOUS big brown eyes and the cutest little smile--especially when he wrinkles up his little nose. He loves to stand up next to our furniture (or tub) and watch everything going on. His big sister gives him lots of action to watch! He's super grabby and will grab anything he can--hair, earrings, your dinner, etc...

I'm not sure of his stats yet (we go to the doctor next week), but I'm guessing he weighs close to 19-20 pounds. Probably very average, although he's got the cutest puppy-dog wrinkles still! We think he's anything but average. We sure are thankful to have little Wyatt in our family! We love you Buddy-boy!
